New updates were made to the standard SASO 2663 for Air Conditioners and Energy Consumption Efficiency Regulation, and this was announced in Saudi Gazette on 8th of February 2013. The date of enforcement for both of the modified SASO 2663 and the updated regulation will be six months after the date of the announcement which will be on 4th of August 2013

In addition to assisting the Saudi Government in establishing a complete certification system and manufacturers in obtaining certification for their products, Intertek communicates manufacturers’ opinions to the Saudi Government, actively serving as a bridge of communication between them. Type registration is currently the most common certification, and its scope covers safety and energy consumption.
