The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU) of Turkey has published a regulation in Official Gazette No. 30595, which has been prepared within the framework of compliance with EU Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This regulation has already come into force. Here are the highlights (substances marked in blue are not included in Regulation (EC) No 850/2004, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2016/460):
1. The requirements mentioned in points 2 and 3 below shall apply to substances which are components of articles produced on or before 14 November 2018 from 14 May 2019. These requirements shall not apply if a substance which is a component of an article which is in use on or before 14 November 2018.
2. Annex 1 of this regulation contains a list of substances that are prohibited to be manufactured, placed on the market and used as a substance, mixture or as component of articles, as shown below:
