Dear Customer,

The Gulf Marking program from its initial launch in July 2016 has seen many changes which effect the certification process and validity of issued certificates, specifically the revision and renewal of issued Certificates. This letter aims to inform you about the Announcement issued by GSO on 20^th November 2018 about “Maintenance of the Validity of G-Type Examination Certificates” as well as notify you of these changes which ultimately effects the validity of issued Certificates and what necessary actions are to be taken.

Special Reminder: Any existing certificates based on superseded standards according to GSO standard endorsement policy (as of today) shall be ｕｐｄａｔｅd to valid standards before 31^st March 2019. Any certificate that fail to comply with this ｕｐｄａｔｅ timeline will be suspended, pending, withdrawal from GSO certificate tracking system.  (please refer to the GSO Announcement attached for details).

In accordance with GSO rules on issued certificates on the Gulf Certificate Tracking System, if we do not receive your confirmation, we will regard it as that you do not wish proceed with an ｕｐｄａｔｅd revision or renewal of certification, and the certificate will be suspended/withdrawn from the Gulf Certificate Tracking System according to the GSO Announcement.

GCC GSO Standards Revision:

The GCC GSO operate an “adoption and endorsement” policy for GSO IEC/BS/CISPR standards using a 2 year transition mechanism, meaning that an adopted and endorsed International or National standard from the date published on the GSO website will be transitioned in over a 2 year period with a given effective date, the effective date being 2 years on from the published date, the previous issued version of standard at which point will be withdrawn.

The GSO standards on issue are subject to a 2 year transition period (adopted and endorsed from the current issued international/national standards). If review of certification is not carried out before the end of transition period, this will result in suspension of the certificate pending withdrawal from GSO certificate tracking system.

Please refer to the table of expiring standards for detailed information regarding issued Certificates subjected to new standards revision or 3 year validity end date renewal. The following information is just for reference due to the frequent change of the standard information.
