On May 26, 2026, U.S. Minnesota State Governor signed bill SF 4612 into law to amend Minnesota Statutes, section 116.943, concerning PFAS requirements in consumer products.
The Section 4 to Article 14 of SF 4612 specifies that the PFAS reporting requirements apply only to products manufactured after July 1, 2023. So, products made before July 1, 2023 are exempt from reporting requirements and products made after July 1, 2023 must be reported. This exemption date applies to the manufacture date of the final product and not individual components within the product
The initial PFAS reporting is still due on September 15, 2026. For more details, refer to the previous Intertek Insight: U.S. Minnesota State Further Extended Reporting Due Date for PFAS in Consumer Products
