On 19 February 2021, The Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) of Hong Kong has approved to update certain safety standards for Toys and Children’s Products listed in Schedules 1 and 2 of the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (Cap. 424) in order to incorporate the latest versions of international safety standards. The new version of the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance will effect from 1 October 2021.

The changes to the standards are summarized below:
