In September 2020, the European Commission has drafted a Commission Directive amending Directive 2009/48/EC as regards specific limit values for aniline in certain toys.
The Commission proposed to add an entry in Appendix C to Annex II to the Toy Safety Directive, which specifies the limit values for chemicals used in toys intended for use by children under 36 months or in other toys intended to be placed in the mouth:
