The Governor of US Rhode Island has signed Bill H5119 to increase the limit of any non-polymeric organohalogen flame retardant from 100 ppm to 1000 ppm in bedding and upholstered furniture from 1 January 2020.
The restriction shall not apply to:
A manufacturer of banned products shall notify persons or entities that sell the manufactured products in Rhode Island about the provisions no less than 90 days prior to the effective date of the ban.
