California Proposition 65 published Bisphenol A (BPA) settlement
On Feb. 09, 2017, the first California Proposition 65 Bisphenol A (BPA) settlement agreement has been reached out. In this agreement, the source of the BPA violation came from wine glasses made with polycarbonate (PC), it shall not be equaling to or more than 1000ppm.
Commencing 90 days after the effective date of the settlement and continuing thereafter, if any restricted product contains BPA that exceed 1000ppm, it should provide a clear and reasonable warning. These warnings include products labeling, mail order catalog warning and internet sales warning.
BPA is mainly applied in the manufacture of polycarbonate, epoxy resin, polyester resin, polyphenol ether and polysulfone resin. Products made of above materials should be high risk of containing BPA.
