On 2 Jan 2019, OEKO-TEX published new version of Leather Standard by OEKO-TEX (2019) for leather products with updated test criteria and limits for the certification. This updated voluntary standard comes into effect on 1 April 2019.
The major changes are:

Benzene and four amine salts are included.

Siloxanes D4, D5 and D6 are newly added.

Barium and selenium are included in the requirement of extractable heavy metal.

Disodium octaborate is newly included in Flame retardants and the requirement for Flame retardants is adjusted.

Quinoline, which was “under observation” before, is now regulated with limit values.

New “under observation” substances include N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances as well as MCCP are added, but currently do not have limit values.

Tightening the limit values of TCEP, SCCP, Formaldehyde (Class III) and Solvent residues (NMP, DMAc, DMFa).
