Australia – Voluntary Toys Safety Standards AS-NZS 8124.1:2016 and AS-NZS 8124.2:2016 Published
On 30 June 2016, the following voluntary standards were published:

AS/NZS 8124.1:2016 Safety of toys. Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties

AS/NZS 8124.2:2016 Safety of toys. Part 2: Flammability
AS/NZS 8124.1:2016 is adopted from ISO 8124.1: 2014 with national modifications as below:

Added “fibrous filling material” under small part exemption

Added a figure to show single ventilation area under enclosure requirement

Added kinetic energy per area of contact for projectiles in the form of an arrow
-
Amended the tolerance of cylindrical gauge for projectile tip measurement

Amended the rationale for small parts and projectiles with suction cups
For AS/NZS 8124.2:2016, ISO 8124.2: 2014 is adopted without national modification.
