Important Information Regarding this Standards Update Notification

Add coverage for catalytic type camp heaters. (Clauses 1.1, 4.4.5, 4.4.6, 4.4.7, 4.4.8, 4.11.2, Figure 1, Test Probe Used to Determine Protection of Catalytic Pad. 5.5, Hydrocarbon emission, 5.8.1 paragraphs “-a”, “-b”, “-c”, and “-d”, added definitions for catalyst, catalytic layer, catalytic pad, hydrocarbon, un-reacted hydrocarbon).

Add coverage regarding the use of aluminum tubing (Clause 4.3.6).

Add reference to the Standard for Manually Operated Electric Gas Ignition Systems and Components as an additional approved ignition system type (Clause 4.6.1).

Added coverage to address remote cylinders using compressed gas (Clause 4.8.8).

Added requirement that printed instructions shall bear the symbol of the organization conducting tests for compliance with the Standard (Clause 4.12, Instructions).

Added requirements for testing with propane/butane mixtures and butane fuel (Clause 4.12-f, 4.13.7).

Revised instructions regarding attendance of appliance in operation; instructing to keep children and pets away from the operating appliance (Clause 4.12-g).

Test gas coverage revised for clarity (Clause 5.2, Test gases).

Added requirement for monitoring the temperature of an integral LP cylinder(s) (Clause 5.12.2).

Revised Manufacturing and Production tests to be consistent among all Refrigerator and Camping Equipment Standards and to add periodic testing for catalytic type appliances (Clause 6).
