ENERGY STAR<sup>®</sup> Luminaires V2.0 — Navigating the Change in Product Specification Requirements from Version 1.2 to Version 2.0

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the final version of the ENERGY STAR Specification for Luminaires Version 2.0. The new specification and all requirements will be effective June 1, 2016.
Timeline

June 1, 2016: Luminaires V2.0 effective date. All luminaires must recertify by June 1, 2016 or ｄｒｏｐ off the ENERGY STAR Qualified Products List (QPL).

December 1, 2015: After this date, all new luminaire products must be tested and evaluated to Luminaires V2.0. Prior to December 1, 2015, laboratories qualified to Luminaires V2.0 may use V1.2 or V2.0.
This change was made in response to the industry and to align with Lamps V2.0.
