EU Final Proposal on Restriction of PAHs in Consumer Products
Recently, EU reached final proposal on restriction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in consumer products under REACH Annex XVII. It is expected to be published in the Official Journal this year, and, to come into effect by the end of 2015.
The proposed restrictions will extend the REACH Annex XVII, entry 50 that restricts the presence of PAHs in extender oils used for the manufacture of tyres. It will apply to those parts of articles that prolonged or short-term repetitive contact with the skin or mouth. Detail lists as below:
