The Council of standards Australia have published AS/NZS ISO 8124.3:2021 Safety of Toys, Part 3: Migration of certain elements in 12 February 2021. This standard was prepared by Joint Technical Committee CS-018, Safety of Childrens toys. It Superseded AS/NZS 8124.3:2012 and AS/NZS ISO 8124.3:2012 Amd 1:2016.
This document is identical with, and has been reproduced from, ISO 8124-3:2020, Safety of toys-Part 3: Migration of certain element.
Compared to its previous version AS/NZS 8124.3:2012 and AS/NZS ISO 8124.3:2012 Amd 1:2016, the main changes are as follows:
-
(1) Two detailed dewaxing methods (with Soxhlet extractor or with solvent extractor) have been introduced to replace the original one;
-
(2) Methods of element analysis have been given. The analysis can be performed with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS or other suitable techniques. An ICP-OES method for determination of the elements is given as informative content;
-
(3) Change the definition of paper and paperboard. Paperboard in the new version includes card or cardboard with a mass per unit area over 400 g/m2.
