• Biodegradation Testing Service

  Intertek provides biodegradation testing services on various product standards and evaluation standards in many countries and regions (e.g., ISO 17088, ASTM D6400, ASTM D6868, EN 14995, EN 13432, AS 4736, AS 5810, GB/T 41040, OECD 301F, ASTM D5511, ASTM D5338, ISO 15985, ISO 14855, GB/T 33793, GB/T 19277.1 etc.) and in various environmental conditions.

• Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)

  The Recycled Content Standard (hereafter RCS) is a chain of custody standard to track recycled raw materials through the supply chain. The standard was developed through work by the Materials Traceability Working Group, part of OIA’s Sustainability Working Group in 2013. It is a standard supporting for external third party certification. Certified companies are authorized to use RCS label to market their products and communicate with downstream users and consumers.

  The RCS standard is developed to address the following needs from the industry and market:

  • Alignment of Recycled definitions across multiple applications;
  • Track and trace Recycled input materials;
  • Provide consumers (both brands and end consumers) with a tool to make informed decisions.
  • Provide assurance that materials are actually Recycled and in a final product.

• Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

  The Global Recycled Standard (hereafter GRS) is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of the GRS is to increase use of recycled materials in products and reduce/ eliminate the harm caused by its production.

  The GRS standard is developed to address the following needs from the industry and market:

  • Alignment of Recycled definitions across multiple applications;
  • Track and trace Recycled input materials;
  • Provide consumers (both brands and end consumers) with a tool to make informed decisions;
  • Reduce harmful impact of production to people and the environment;
  • Provide assurance that materials are actually Recycled and in a final product;
  • Drive innovation in addressing quality issues in the use of recycled materials.
  To reduce the unnecessary repetition of audit and relevant cost, equivalent audit /standard at recycled content, social and environmental management are accepted.

• ISCC PLUS

  ISCC PLUS is a standard created by one of the largest certification systems – International Sustainability & Carbon Certification, to trace sustainable raw material. The standard covers all sustainable raw material, including agricultural and forest biomass, biogenic wastes and residues, circular materials and renewable energy that are used in multiple markets, including food & feedstuff, chemical engineering, bioenergy etc.

  A recycled or biobased product with a certification of ISCC PLUS issued by an independent 3^rd party, helps the company and brand owner to show their commitment to the sustainable goal which is well recognized around the globe.

• Recycled Material Testing Service

  Intertek provides testing service per Spanish Law 7/2022 (Ley 7/2022) - recycled material (UNE-EN 15343:2008) and UK Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) Regulation - recycled material content.

• Intertek Green Leaf Mark and Certificate

  To fulfill the needs from our clients to mark environmental claims, Intertek provides its own Environmental Claim Validation and Certification Program-Green Leaf Mark to support clients to communicate their products’ environmental credentials publicly.
