U.S Regulations on PFAS Round Up for Toys
 

Due to toxicity and bioaccumulation of PFAS. There are many countries have imposed restrictions on PFAS on various products. The following is the summary of the PFAS related regulations on Toys for US market for your quick reference. 

Please be aware that Maine H.P. 1113 – L.D. 1503 is already effective on 1 January 2023. Per this regulation, products for sale in Maine containing intentionally added PFAS, the manufacturer shall submit a written notification to the Department of Environmental Protection. 

California AB 1817 prohibits textile articles (including the textile material in toys) that contain PFAS in California from January 2025. 

Manufacturers should take immediate action to ensure the compilation of the regulations to minimize the risk. 

Summary of Recently Passed U.S. State Requirements

Toy: High risk material such as fabric, coated materials, leather, paper, wood with waterproof, anti-stain, anti-oil or non-stick properties are suggested to test.
