On December 7, 2022, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) issued a new version of standard EN 1888-2:2018+A1:2022 for pushchairs for children above 15kg up to 22kg to replace the old version EN 1888-2:2018. All national standards conflicting with that shall be repealed not later than June 30, 2023.

The main updates are as follows:      

1.Clauses 7.1 revised background color of the symbol to highlight the presence of the white border with 4 notes added for explanation.

2.Clause 7.2 revised requirements that the maximum weight and age of each child the vehicle is intended for shall be indicated by using either a statement or the pictogram.

There is an important reminder that this European standard applies in conjunction with and in addition to the European standard EN 1888-1 and it cannot be used separately.
