On Nov 14, 2022, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has published a direct final rule to update the Safety Standard for Gates and Enclosures (16 CFR 1239). The regulation shall enter into force on 21 January 2023. 

According to the Standard, each gate and enclosure must comply with all applicable provisions of ASTM F1004–22, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Expansion Gates and Expandable Enclosures.
