Intertek China Hardlines Offer Labelling Review Service on France’s Triman Logo and Sorting Information Logo
 

On 11 February 2020, France has published AGEC Law No. 2020-105 (Law against waste and for a circular economy). According to the AGEC Law, Article 17 and Article 62, following 22 kinds of products or packaging, shall be labelled with (1) Triman logo and (2) sorting information logo (Info-Tri logo). The requirement is effective on 1 January 2022.

According to France Decree No. 2021-835, the guidance documents on labelling Triman logo and sorting information logo shall be published separately by eco-organisations of each industry of the 22 kinds of products or packaging, after approval from French government. The latest compliance date for French manufacturers and importers is within 1 year after publication date of guidance document. Products or packaging manufactured or imported before latest compliance date have 6 months for disposal or selling of stocks after this date.

22 kinds of products or packaging required to be labelled:

  1. Household packaging (packaging used to market products consumed or used by households, including those consumed out of home);
  2. Packaging used to market products consumed or used by professionals;
  3. Printed paper (except books) and graphic papers;
  4. Construction products or materials from the building sector;
  5. Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE);
  6. Batteries and accumulators;
  7. Contents and containers of chemical products;
  8. Medicines;
  9. Perforating medical devices;
  10. Furnishing elements, upholstered seating, sleeping products, textile decoration elements;
  11. Clothing textiles, household linen, footwear;
  12. Toys (except those that fall under the principle of other eco-organisations);
  13. Sports and leisure articles (except those that fall under the principle of other eco-organisations);
  14. DIY and garden items (except those that fall under the principle of other eco-organisations);
  15. Private cars, vans, two- and three-wheeled motor vehicles and motor quadricycles;
  16. Tires;
  17. Mineral or synthetic oils, lubricating or industrial;
  18. Pleasure or sport vessels;
  19. Tobacco products with plastic filters;
  20. Non-biodegradable synthetic chewing gum;
  21. Single-use sanitary textiles;
  22. Fishing gear containing plastic
