On March 8, 2022, the United States’ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final rule to further extend the compliance date for phenol, isopropylated phosphate [PIP (3:1)].
According to the latest final rule, the prohibitions on all processing and distribution in commerce of PIP (3:1) for use in articles and PIP (3:1)-containing articles will become effective on October 31, 2024. In addition, the recordkeeping requirements for manufacturers, processers and distributors of PIP (3:1)-containing articles to maintain ordinary business records will also become effective on October 31, 2024.
