US Oregon Added Five Chemicals to HPCCCH List Related to the Toxic Free Kids Act

The Oregon Health Authority (Authority) website has announced its Permanent Rule Revision in relation to administrative rules chapter 333, division 16 related to the Toxic Free Kids Act to clarify reporting and revise reportable chemical list.

This Permanent Rule is intended to:

a) Make the Temporary Administrative Order PH 40-2021 permanent by clarifying that the reporting of an HPCCCH is for each component/unit of a children’s product and not the whole/entire product, and that the highest concentration is to be reported if there are multiple concentrations for a given unit in a particular product category,

b) Add below five chemicals to list of High Priority Chemicals of Concern for Children's Health (HPCCCH):

  • 84-61-7 Dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP)
  • 84-69-5 Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)
  • 620-92-8 Bisphenol F (BPF)
  • 1241-94-7 Ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate (EHDPP)
  • 108171-26-2 Chlorinated paraffins

The Permanent Rule became effective on January 1, 2022.
