In September 2020, the European Commission has proposed Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) to amend Annex I to Persistent Organic Pollutants Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 as regards the entry of pentachlorophenol (PCP) and its salts and esters. According to the proposed Commission Delegated Regulation, the following specific exemption shall be added:
For the purposes of this entry, the exemption from control measures shall apply to concentrations of pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters equal to or below 5 mg/kg (0.0005 % by weight) where they are present in substances, mixtures or articles.
