On April 1, 2021, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) approved a revised version, ASTM F1427-21, which was published in April 2021.

This ASTM standard for bunk beds establishes minimum requirements for the design and performance of bunk beds. It also contains requirements for labeling and instructional material.

Significant changes to the standard from ASTM F1427-19 to ASTM F1427-21 are described below.
