(hereinafter referred to as "Sinexcel") successfully passed the full range of tests by Intertek Group plc (hereinafter referred to as "Intertek") based on ANSI/UL 1741 Supplement A (SA), California Rule 21, and Hawaiin Rule 14, and was awarded a ETL certification for the United States and Canadian markets. The awarding of ETL certification to Sinexcel means that Sinexcel’s 50~250k series energy storage system has become one of the industry’s first large-scale grid-connected inverters to meet the ANSI/UL 1741 SA, California Rule 21, and Hawaii Rule 14 specifications. Among them, ANSI/UL 1741 SA is the additional requirement for the latest ANSI/UL 1741 standard, which proposes items and requirements for evaluating and testing grid support functions so as to distinguish between common grid-connected inverters and inverters with grid support functions. California Rule 21, issued by the California Energy Commission (CEC) and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and HECO Rule 14, issued by the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO), are specifications on the grid connection of distributed power stations. Both regulations set stringent requirements for the grid support functions that grid-connected inverters need to have in the event of a grid failure, but differ in grid support function parameters. This poses a challenge to China’s grid-connected inverter companies that are entering both the California and Hawaiian markets.
