Intertek Guangzhou Ozone Testing Laboratory Approved by California ARB to Become the Only Accredited Laboratory Outside North America
Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, recently has expanded its capability for air cleaner ozone testing with its testing facility in Guangzhou, China approved by the US California government body ARB (Air Resources Board), and becoming the only lab meeting the requirement in the world outside North America. The lab can provide ozone concentration testing to the US California ARB requirements for products including air cleaners, air purifiers and other products with air cleaning functions.
In recent years, indoor air pollution has aroused increasing public concern because of its impact to human health, thus making air cleaners in growing demand on the market. According to research, the market capacity of air cleaners in the U.S. during 2016-2021 will be growing with a compound annual growth rate of 8%. Ozone, a harmful substance produced during the use of air cleaners, may do great harm to the human body when in high concentration. Ozone concentration test has been adopted widely by countries as a mandatory test item in air cleaner safety testing. The state of California has its own stricter requirements and regulations for this ozone test, and only the test data issued by authorized laboratory can be accepted for registration. After successful registration, the products can be sold in California.
