The ASTM F2050 -12 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Hand-Held Infant Carriers is a recently revised safety specification published by ASTM International to address safety concerns identified with the popular juvenile products known as hand held infant carriers. These products are defined in the standard as:
“[A] freestanding, rigid sided product intended to carry an occupant whose torso is completely supported by the product to facilitate transportation by a caregiver by means of hand-holds or handles”
