The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has published direct final rule to revise the Safety Standard for Portable Bed Rails (16 CFR 1224) in 26 February 2020. This standard shall be effective on 20 May 2020.

According to the standard, each portable bed rail shall comply with ASTM F2085-19.

Note:

Portable bed rail: portable railing installed on the side of an adult bed and/or on the mattress surface which is intended to keep a child from falling out of bed.
