This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts and quilt cover,” GB/T 22797-2009 “Sheet,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and pillow,” GB/T 18383-2007 “General technical requirements for products with filling materials,” GB/T 24252-2009 “Silk quilts,” and QB/T 1193-2012 “Down & Feather quilt.”

Primary failed items: fiber content, pH value, filling content, weight tolerance of filling, down content

Children’s Apparel and School Uniforms

In December, the SAMR, Shanghai AMR, Zhejiang AMR, Chengdu AMR and Dalian AMR announced the results of the special product quality supervision for children’s apparel and school uniforms.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 31701-2015 “Safety Technical Code for Infant and Children’s Textile Products,” FZ/T 73045-2013 “Knitted children's wear,” and GB/T 31888-2015 “School uniforms of primary and secondary students.”

Primary failed items: fiber content, pH value, cords and drawstrings, carcinogenic aromatic amine dyestuff, colorfastness, use instructions (label), pilling

Textiles and Apparel

In December, the SAMR, Shanghai AMR, Zhejiang AMR, Chengdu AMR, Nanjing AMR, Dalian AMR and Guiyang AMR announced the results of the special product quality supervision and inspection for textiles and apparel.

The spot checks were conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 2660-2017 “Shirts and blouses,” GB/T 18132-2016 “silk garments,” FZ/T 81007-2012 ”Casual wear,” FZ/T 73020-2012 ”Knitted casual wear,” FZ/T 73018-2012 “Wool knitting goods,” GB/T32614-2016 “Outdoor sportswear—Water resistant garment,” GB/T 14272-2011“Down garments,” and FZ/T 73058-2017 “Knitted overcoat.”

Primary failed items: Formaldehyde content, pH value, fiber content, colorfastness, pilling, water resistance (spray), down content

Footwear

In December, the SAMR, Shanghai AMR, Zhejiang AMR, Chengdu AMR and Dalian AMR announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection of footwear products.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 30585-2014 “Safety technical specifications for children’s footwear,” GB/T 28011-2011 “Shanks for footwear,” GB 21148-2007 “Personal protective equipment—Safety footwear,” and GB 12011-2009 “Foot protection—Electrically insulating footwear.”

Primary failed items: Label, heavy metal content (lead, cadmium), phthalates, flexing resistance of outsole, outsole hardness, tensile strength

Bags

In December, the SAMR announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for bags.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 20400-2006 “Leather and fur—Limit of harmful matter,” QB/T 1333-2018 “Handbag and knapsack,” and QB/T 2155-2018 “Travelling case and trolley bag.”

Primary failed items: shock impact property, travelling performance, rigidity case surface drop ball impact property
